Where to sleep in Orlando: inside or outside Disney
When thinking about where to stay in Orlando, the big question is usually: "Do I stay inside or outside of the Walt Disney World Resort?"
Once the date and length of the trip have been chosen, the next step is to decide where we will stay. In Orlando all travelers ask the same thing: "Is it better to stay inside or outside the Walt Disney World Resort"?
The waters are divided and in every traveler who visits Orlando we will find a defender of one of the 2 options.
Buena Vibra will try to enter into this debate, but it does so of course in a subjective way. The decision depends on the tastes and budget of each family.
To answer this question better define what is "inside" and what is "outside"
Where to sleep inside Disney
Contrary to what many assume, Walt Disney World Resort is far from exhausted in its four main theme parks. In a geographical area the size of the city of San Francisco or twice the size of the island of Manhattan.
The resort has hundreds of restaurants, highways, thousands of hectares of nature reserve, a shopping center, a sports center, and dozens of hotels of different categories within its limits.
Staying inside is taking a room in one of the hotels belonging to the Disney company located inside the borders of the resort

Why sleep at Disney
Once the concepts have been defined, we return to the question and although there is no single answer, there is a word that defines what it means to stay inside: Magic.
First of all, the setting of each resort. Everything, absolutely everything is designed for you to live the magic. They have all the details thought out and above all, resolved.
Disney and magic are synonymous and those who go to Orlando return fascinated by having experienced that magic
With that in mind, does it make sense to make a great effort to share a trip full of magic with our family members, and limit the experience of maximum magic to only part of the day?
If we go to the Caribbean, a hotel in front of the beach will enhance the enjoyment compared to a hotel several blocks away. If our destination is New York, staying in Manhattan will undoubtedly make a trip superior to staying in Queens. If the chosen city is a European capital such as Rome or Paris, a hotel in one of its central neighborhoods will be better than one in the outskirts.
The logic in Orlando is the same, therefore if we travel looking for Magic, staying at Disney is living the magic 24 hours a day.
If we go to Orlando and stay at Disney, we will maximize the experience of the destination. It's not about proximity but intensity
Where to sleep outside of Disney
Hotels and resorts located in Orlando are usually cheaper than accommodations located within Disney. Staying outside also allows you to rest from the exciting life of the park if your stay is long. Some people who spend many days at Walt Disney World feel 'Disney overdose'.
If you decide to stay abroad, you can also buy your tickets for more than one day, which will cost you the same as if you slept at Walt Disney World. It is also good to know that most hotels offer transportation to Walt Disney for free, so the transfer is not a problem.
This huge vacation destination has great hotel options that are not owned by the Disney Co.: in the Orlando area and other adjacent cities there are chains such as Hilton, Marriot or Waldorf Astoria, along with hundreds of hotels of all categories, which They make up an endless offer just minutes from the theme parks.
Choosing one of these hotels is staying outside of Disney.
Sleep at Universal Studios
Disney's historical rival, -Universal-, also has its own hotels with advantages in its theme parks for those who decide to stay in one of them. However, the advantages are exhausted in benefits in the parks and fail to provide the magic that Disney hotels do. We then treat Universal hotels in the "outside" category.
What are the Universal hotels
- Prime Value Category
- Universal's Aventura Hotel
- Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort
- Preferred Category
- Loews Sapphire Falls Resort
- Loews Royal Pacific Resort
- Premier Category
- Hard Rock Hotel®
- Loews Portofino Bay Hotel
There is a difference in costs – an issue that is not always so decisive with the discount policy that Disney has been giving away in recent years – it is a difference that, if you can, is worth paying because magic is priceless.
Our proposal does not imply disqualifying vacations scheduled in hotels outside the Resort. There are also very good options outside of Disney and each family is different in their tastes and preferences.
