Explore St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat
Are you going on vacation to the south of France soon? Do you know Saint-Jean–Cap-Ferrat?
I must say that until recently, I had never heard of it! And then I had the opportunity to discover the town recently.
In the heart of the Côte d'Azur, between Monaco and Nice, the peninsula of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is a real gem in the middle of nature, between land and sea!
What to do in Saint-Jean–Cap-Ferrat?
You will see that there are a lot of things to do in the area. And how not to start with the beaches? We are in the south of France after all!
3 public beaches
There are 3 public beaches, Port beach (Cros deï Pin), a beach located in the heart of the village. You have the houses just above and it gives a pretty nice view once in the water!
There is also the Fossettes beach which is located below the Jardin de la Paix. This is my favorite beach for its more authentic and discreet side. In the off season there is no one!
What is very nice about Fossettes beach is that you have an underwater trail starting from the beach. With a mask you can swim on the surface of the water on a course of more than 200 meters, discover the fauna and flora. A fun little outing before or after sunbathing on the beach of Les Fossettes 🙂
The third public beach is Fosses Beach. It is also a very beautiful beach located in the south. You have a view of the magnificent surrounding villas! Very nice and even more in the off season.
Walks and hikes
You will be able to walk around Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, there are beautiful walks to do.
For example, you can go from the village of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat to Beaulieu-sur-Mer. A short easy walk of about 20 minutes which will offer you beautiful panoramas.
Otherwise if you have a little more time, I recommend the Tour du Cap-Ferrat. It is a walk of about 1h30 along the coast to the lighthouse at Pointe Malalongue.
There are quite a few small coves along the way, you can take advantage of them to swim or take beautiful photos.
It's really nice to do especially if you go early in the morning so as not to suffocate in the heat during the day 🙂
Hikes are a good way to discover Saint Jean Cap Ferrat and its surroundings while enjoying nature and beautiful viewpoints!
