Summer events in Aspen include live music, mountaintop yoga, sunset bike afternoons, and a series of trail runs and bikes.

Associated with snow and the best of world skiing, many people miss out on the most beautiful side of summer in Aspen. There is a lot to do in the mountains and in those incredible landscapes when the cold subsides and the place offers other types of experiences.

In fact, Snowmass announced the start of summer 2023 operations on Memorial Day weekend, May 27. The agenda of the hot months includes events of the most varied. Live music, mountaintop yoga, sunset bike afternoons, and a series of trail runs and bike rides.

We're sharing the full details on operations and what's new for summer 2023 at Aspen Snowmass.


What to do in Aspen in summer: one place, a thousand options

Aspen Mountain begins summer weekend operations on Memorial Day (May 27-29) on the Silver Queen Gondola and will continue on the weekends of June 3-4 and June 10-11.

In turn, summer daily operations will officially start on June 16 and last until September 4 and continue on weekends only until October 1. Hours of operation for the Silver Queen Cable Car will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the last ride at 4:30 p.m.

Starting May 27, the Silver Queen Gondola on Aspen Mountain will be running from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It will operate on weekends only until June 16, when daily operations will begin.

Summer cable car and lift operations in Aspen

Snowmass summer operations, both the Elk Camp Gondola and Chairlift, will run daily from June 21 to September 4 and then continue on weekends through October 1.

Hours of operation for the Elk Camp Cable Car will be 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. m. to 5:00 p.m. m. with the last descent at 5:00 p.m. m. The Elk Camp chairlift will operate from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. m. to 4:00 p.m., with the last trip at 4:00 p.m.


The Lost Forest in Aspen Snowmass

The Lost Forest is an immersive mountain activity center located at the top of the Elk Camp Gondola in Snowmass. Starting June 21, The Lost Forest will operate daily from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. m. to 4:00 p.m. m. Reservations are required for some activities.

In the summer 2023 season it includes:

The Breathtaker Alpine Coaster, a 5,700-foot track that winds through the trees of Elk Camp at speeds of up to 28 miles per hour.

The Canopy Run Zipline Tour, a three-hour experience with seven zip lines, four rappels, and two skybridges.

The Treeline Trial Challenge Course, which includes five ropes courses (ranging from beginner to difficult) up to 40 feet in the air.

The 40-foot-tall Rugged Ascent climbing wall with 14 auto belays and up to 50 routes designed by Boulder's Eldorado Climbing Walls.

Robin's Nest, for the younger adventurers (kids under 8 years old) offers a 4-level gated net play structure.

Ball Track, new this year is a 150-foot parallel wooden ball track, so guests of all ages can race balls through obstacle courses with lots of exciting twists and turns.
The Lost Forest also features miles of hiking trails, a deep-sea fishing pond, and disc golf for adventurers of any age. Located at the top of the Elk Camp Cable Car, The Lost Forest is immersive yet accessible.


Snowmass Bike Park

Opening June 21, Snowmass Bike Park features more than 25 miles of diverse, purpose-built gravity trails that range from beginner-friendly easy trails to challenging, dynamic technical descents.

The lift-access bike park stretches nearly 3,000 vertical feet from the top of the Elk Camp chairlift to Snowmass Base Village. With Snowmass Bike Park's wide range of trails, it offers an ideal Aspen Snowmass mountain experience for families, beginners and experienced cyclists alike to enjoy the outdoors and explore some of the best mountain biking terrain in the world. The Roaring Fork Valley, home to Aspen and Snowmass, is proud to have been designated an IMBA Gold Level Travel Center, one of only seven in the world and the only Gold Level Travel Center in Colorado.


Snowmass Bike Park tickets are available for $57 for a one-day ticket, and a three-day ticket is offered for $142. Bike Park season passes are available for $358. Sunsets at Elk Camp + Bonus Bike Nights

Tuesday Sunsets are back in Elk Camp this summer with Elk Camp Restaurant, Snowmass Bike Park and Lost Forest with extended hours on Tuesday nights from June 27 through August 8, excluding July 4.

The experience includes a complimentary ride on the Elk Camp Gondola beginning at 5:00 pm. to the restaurant where guests can enjoy locally sourced ingredients in farm-to-table inspired a la carte dining with cash bar, outdoor family activities and live music on the terrace. Along with Tuesday Day Sunsets at Elk Camp Restaurant, Snowmass Bike Park will host Bonus Bike Nights on Tuesdays and will stay open until dusk every Tuesday from July 11 through August 8. Passengers can purchase a late arrival ticket for just $44 that is valid from 3:00 p.m. until nightfall.

During Tuesday Sunsets, reservations are required for Lost Forest activities, including the Breathtaker alpine coaster and Rugged Ascent rock climbing wall. Tickets are available for $54 and can be purchased here.

Yoga on top of Aspen Mountain

From June 19 to September 1, yoga classes will be offered every day from Monday to Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. m. to 11:30 a.m. m. on top of Aspen Mountain. Yoga for Beginners is held outdoors and is $20 with a portion of the proceeds going to the Caring for Community Fund. The class requires an upgrade ticket. 

Audi Power of Four Trail Run: July 15

The Audi Power of Four Trail Run will return this year on Saturday, July 15. The run features a series of trails connecting all four Aspen Snowmass mountains, traveling through 50K of terrain and nearly 10,000 vertical feet. Runners testing their limits on the 50K course will start at the base of Aspen Mountain and finish at Snowmass Base Village.

The event also offers a 25K run along the famous Government Trail, which covers Buttermilk and Snowmass Mountains and a 10K option starting at the Elk Camp Gondola in Snowmass and ending at Snowmass Base Village. Classic Saturdays and Bluegrass Sundays at Aspen Mountain

Live music atop Aspen Mountain will return this summer on Saturdays and Sundays beginning in July. Classic Saturdays at Aspen Mountaintop begin Saturday, July 8, and beginning Sunday, July 18, Bluegrass Sundays will take place outside the Sundeck Restaurant. Snowmass Village Summer News and Events

Summer in Snowmass Village presents something for foodies, yogis, artists, cyclists, adrenaline seekers, families, and everyone in between. The Snowmass 2023 summer event lineup features returning local favorites like the 49th season Snowmass Rodeo, the 31st year of the Snowmass Thursday Night Free Concert Series, the 48th Anniversary Snowmass Balloon Festival, Heritage Fire , Snowmass Rendezvous, Drishti Beats Yoga and Music Festival, and much more.

Additionally, summer 2023 will see the relaunch of the Snowmass Ice Age Discovery, bringing the iconic 2010 discovery to residents and visitors in new ways.

Summer 2023 also sees a new installation of Yarn Bombing, a community-based art project on trees and other stationary objects around Snowmass Town Park, and the opening of the new gastropub and music venue The Tavern Kitchen & Bar. at Snowmass Mall. Summer Pass in Aspen: tickets and promotions


Summer deals include the $35 Single Ride Ticket, which includes a round-trip ride on Aspen Mountain's Silver Queen Gondola or Snowmass' Elk Camp Gondola and Chairlift. The 3-Day Ride Ticket is available for $44 and includes up to 3 days of riding the Aspen Mountain's Silver Queen Gondola and Snowmass Elk Camp Gondola and Chairlift and is valid 3 out of 7 days.
