Porto Seguro: 85 kilometers of beach and fun in Brazil

The city of Porto Seguro, in the south of the state of Bahia, awaits you with 85 kilometers of beaches and entertainment, historical sites and colorful towns, characteristics that place it as one of the 64 most influential tourist destinations in Brazil.

Porto Seguro is a city that has an important historical value for Brazil, since it was officially declared the port of entry for the Portuguese in 1500.
Porto Seguro combines natural beauties, excellent infrastructure and varied tourist attractions such as:
- Arraial D'Ajuda for families with children
- Trancoso, chosen for weddings and honeymooners
- Caraiva, which offers the Argentine tourist an encounter with preserved nature
The city where "Brazil was born" is the third hotel hub in the country, with more than 48,000 beds available, ranking behind Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.
Beaches
Along the 85 kilometers that connect Mutá beach, in the extreme north of Porto Seguro, to Caraiva, in the southernmost point, the visitor has a wide variety of beach huts with the best infrastructure.
- To the north, Taperapuan, with its barracks with music and good food
- Mutá, ideal for water sports such as kitesurfing, windsurfing and standup paddle
- To the south the sophistication of the "Beach Clubs"
At night, the Discovery Walkway, along Avenida Portugal, invites you to taste the traditional "capeta" drink, made with seasonal fruit, condensed milk, powdered chocolate, cinnamon and powdered guarana.
Arrail d'Ajuda
But if there is a must-see in Porto Seguro, it is the district of Arraial d'Ajuda, considered "the most charming in Brazil", which is reached after a five-minute raft crossing the Buranhém River, where you can observe the meeting of the river with the sea.
About 10 minutes by van or bus travel through the picturesque alleys of the district to the center of Arraial with the Church of Our Lady of Ajuda, which, built in the 16th century, is considered the first religious temple in Brazil.
The main attraction of Arraial d'Ajuda is Mucugê street, "the most charming in Brazil", where you can find cozy restaurants serving international cuisine, and, of course, the colors and flavors of local cuisine, as well of shops and boutiques selling local items.
Bars with live music complete this particular artery where you can enjoy rock, blues, jazz, MPB and other rhythm bands.
TaÃpe beach, with cliffs reaching 45 meters high, and the lively beaches of Mucugê and Parracho are the most sought after by tourists, while Pitinga is a more exquisite option, all in the district.
In Arraial d'Ajuda, there is also the Arraial d'Ajuda Eco Park, which opened in 1997, is one of the most important water parks in Latin America.
