Scenic World 2025: Nature, adventure and spectacular views in the Blue Mountains
We invite you to find out how to visit the Blue Mountains and spend an unforgettable day with your family among impressive landscapes.
During our stay in Sydney , we decided to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and venture to the majestic Blue Mountains for a unique experience at Scenic World .
From the start, the trip promised to be special: we took a train from Sydney Central Station to Katoomba, enjoying a panoramic ride that allowed us to appreciate the change from the urban landscape to the lush vegetation and mountains that awaited us.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by stunning surroundings, surrounded by cliffs, eucalyptus forests and an atmosphere of unrivalled tranquillity. Scenic World offers a number of attractions that allow you to explore the Blue Mountains from different perspectives, and we did not miss the opportunity to experience each one of them.
Scenic Railway: the steepest train in the world
Our first experience was to board the Scenic Railway , famous for being the steepest passenger train in the world. The 52-degree incline sent adrenaline racing through our veins as we descended through a tunnel dug into the mountain and emerged into a stunning valley surrounded by greenery. For the more adventurous, there is the option to adjust the seat to an even steeper incline to increase the thrill.
Scenic Walkway: a walk among nature
As we got off the train, we found the Scenic Walkway , an elevated walkway that winds through the rainforest and allows us to explore the Jamison Valley without disturbing its ecosystem. We walked among ancient trees and immersed ourselves in the mining history of the region, exploring ancient remains of the coal mine that once operated in the area.
Scenic Cableway: ascending between mountains
We then boarded the Scenic Cableway , a cable car that took us back to the top of the mountain, offering spectacular views of the valley below and iconic formations such as the Three Sisters, Orphan Rock and Mount Solitary. The sensation of floating above the landscape as we ascended was simply magical.
Scenic Skyway: floating over the abyss
To round off the day on a high note, we took a ride on the Scenic Skyway , a glass-bottomed gondola that crosses the valley from one side to the other. The view from 270 metres up left us speechless: we could see the Katoomba waterfall, the Three Sisters and the vast horizon of the Blue Mountains in all their majesty. It was a unique experience, perfect for capturing unforgettable photos and admiring the beauty of the place from an aerial perspective.
An experience for the whole family
Scenic World not only offers exciting adventures, but also has rest areas, souvenir shops and cafes with panoramic views, making it an ideal option to enjoy with the family. In addition, its commitment to environmental conservation makes the experience even more special, allowing us to connect with nature in a responsible way.
