Neuquén Airport is undergoing a modernization process to meet the growing passenger volume and an ambitious regional and international connectivity plan. Thanks to a combination of investments, new air routes, and key infrastructure projects, this airport is about to mark a milestone in the country: it will be the first in Argentina to have a hotel within its grounds .
The initiative not only aims to enhance the traveler experience but also to reinforce the province's strategic position as a gateway to Patagonia and an economic driver. The concessionaire responsible, Aeropuertos del Neuquén, part of the Corporación América Airports group, reported that the investment under its management already exceeded USD 15 million before the new construction. It was announced that the new hotel will have approximately 80 rooms and will represent an additional investment of USD 18 million . This will set a significant precedent, given that other terminals do not have hotel facilities within their operational area.
Alongside this hotel component, the airport is carrying out a series of technical improvements: a new boarding area, an expanded international terminal, the addition of a jet bridge with a vertical core and connecting bridge, the modernization of the baggage handling area, and the installation of a canopy over the apron to improve the protection of operations. These works reflect the need to adapt the infrastructure to the growth in traffic.
In 2024, more than 1.1 million passengers were recorded; between January and October 2025, an increase of nearly 24% was reported compared to the same period of the previous year. As part of its route expansion, LATAM Airlines announced a new connection to Santiago, Chile, which will begin operating in March 2026 with four weekly flights on Airbus A320 aircraft. This route will strengthen the internationalization of the terminal, which currently serves five airlines (including Aerolíneas Argentinas, JetSMART, Flybondi, and American Jet).
