TRON: the futuristic roller coaster that accelerates the experience in Magic Kingdom

TRON Lightcycle/Run is the fastest roller coaster attraction in a Disney theme park, along with its sister roller coaster at Shanghai Disneyland.

Starting April 4, 2023, Walt Disney World Resort guests are digitally scanned into a mysterious game world in TRON Lightcycle/Run. As members of Team Blue, they board high-speed light motorcycles for a thrilling race through a dark, computerized world, facing off against the ferocious Team Orange.

The new attraction, located in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park, is the fastest roller coaster in a Disney theme park, along with its sister coaster at Shanghai Disneyland. It masterfully blends roller coaster excitement with speed, visual effects, music, and a one-of-a-kind ride system to create an experience like no other.

Futuristic roller coaster allows guests to enter the digital world of TRON and expands Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park

Following the events of The Walt Disney Studios' 2010 film, "TRON: Legacy," the TRON Lightcycle/Run allows guests to enter the digital world through gateways opened by Grid creator Kevin Flynn's son. , Sam Flynn.

The Magic Kingdom portal complements another portal located in Shanghai Disneyland. Sam created the Lightcycle/Run competition as a "friendly" way for users and programs to interact in a game-style competitive event.

With its massive, impressive "curving waves" canopy, the new attraction is a stunning addition to the Tomorrowland skyline. Lightcycle trains appear "out of nowhere", making high-speed twists and turns under the shimmering canopy as they hurtle onto the Game Grid.

The experience is even more dramatic after dark, as the changing patterns of light and color create a powerful image for cyclists and passers-by alike.

The TRON experience begins before guests board the Lightcycles. After passing under the attraction's dazzling canopy, they'll enter a digitizer for another powerful preview of what's in store for them when they join the rides. Then it's time to board Lightcycles in the sync chamber and prepare to load.

Hitting the Net is an unforgettable experience for guests as their powerful Lightcycles gracefully arc under the attraction's towering canopy and charge into a mysterious world of light, sound and speed games.
